Allan Evans, CEO
Allan Evans, as CEO, brings a successful track record of building new businesses. Mr. Evans was a founder of Stanford Telecom’s Wireless Broadband Products subsidiary (acquired by Newbridge Networks for $340M), where he was responsible for system architecture and product development before leading the marketing activities. At Netro Corporation, Mr. Evans led marketing activities for Netro’s second generation broadband fixed wireless platform, leading to a successful IPO at over $1B valuation. Mr. Evans also played a leading role in Netro’s acquisition of Project Angel from AT&T Wireless. At Savi Technology (acquired by Lockheed Martin for $400M), Mr. Evans led several strategic RFID initiatives for real-time asset tracking, wireless sensor networks, service-oriented architecture, RFID encryption, and wide-area tracking using GPS, satcom, and cellular. Mr. Evans holds an MSEE from the University of California at San Diego and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Al Wegener, Founder and CTO
Al Wegener is the founder and CTO of Samplify Systems. Mr. Wegener is a DSP engineer, technical manager, and inventor with more than 25 years of experience in defense electronics, professional and consumer audio and wireless applications. Prior to Samplify, Mr. Wegener was the technical manager of Texas Instruments’ Palo Alto ASIC design center (formerly Graychip), where he was the project lead and chip evangelist for the GC1115 Crest Factor Reduction Processor. Mr. Wegener also worked at Morphics, Command Audio, Studer Editech, Atari, and GTE Government Systems. Mr. Wegener holds a BSEE from Bucknell University and an MSCS from Stanford University.
Richard Tobias, VP and GM of Ultrasound Products
Mr. Tobias is Samplify Systems, Inc. Vice President and General Manager of Ultrasound Products. He has over 25 years of experience in corporate management, engineering management, business development and engineering for the electronics, embedded systems, IC development, DSP and CAD/EDA industries. Mr. Tobias previously worked as the CTO and Vice President of Engineering at Pixelworks, Inc. and was the Vice President of the ASIC & Founder Business Unit at Toshiba America Electronics Components. He was also the founder of several startups including White Eagle Systems Technology, Inc., which was sold to Quick Silver Technologies.
